A true point guard who could be poised for a breakout season... Played a lot of minutes last season but that figure should only increase as coaches praise her ability to make everyone else on the court better... Very passionate player, who with more maturity will be able to bounce back from mistakes more quickly... Has a great basketball IQ... Outstanding athlete who was a two-time Nebraska State Track Champion in the 400 meters.
2007-08 (FRESHMAN)
Appeared in 30 games, making nine starts as a freshman... Shot .333 (28-of-84) from the floor for the year on her way to averaging 3.0 points per game... Pulled down 36 rebounds on the season (1.2 rpg), while dishing out 19 assists and making 16 steals... Went a perfect 4-for-4 from the field in eight minutes during her collegiate debut against Texas Southern (11/9/08)... Also added two rebounds and a steal... Tallied nine points at Cal State Bakersfield (11/13/08)... Made her first career start at Cal Poly (11/15/08), playing 18 minutes... Also pulled down with five rebounds... Finished with a season-best six rebounds and five points at Xavier (11/23/08)... Had eight points and season-high four steals against Liberty (11/24/08)... Scored four points along with a season-high four assists against McNeese State (11/25/08)... Finished with six points and four rebounds against No. 8/7 LSU (11/29/08)... Came off the bench to score seven points along with three assists and two rebounds in 20 minutes against TCU (12/21/07)... Had three points, two rebounds and an assist in 10 minutes against Rice (1/14/08)... Tied her season-high with 27 minutes against SMU (2/9/08), contributing a season best 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor.

Played at Omaha Central High School for coach Chad Townsend... Three-year letterwinner for the Eagles... Team had a 15-4 record in 2007 and was the district runner-up... Named the team's player of the year... Earned First-Team All-State, First-Team All-Super State, First-Team All-Metro and First-Team All-Nebraska honors as a senior... Averaged 21.5 ppg, 4.0 spg and 4.0 apg last season... A 1,000-point scorer in high school... Born Jasmine LaNae Johnson on Sept. 18, 1989, in Omaha, Neb... Daughter of Tabitha Johnson... Has spent time working basketball camps and was part of a teammate mentoring program... Has always dreamed of playing in the WNBA... Plans to major in architecture... Chose to attend Houston because of the coaching staff and team... Enjoys listening to music, dancing and skating in her spare time... Also recruited by Emporia State, Denver and Cleveland State.
